Restoring Strength to Damaged Teeth with Dental Crowns

A durable solution to restore damaged teeth and help them function comfortably again.
About Crowns

Protective Resoration

A dental crown is used to restore teeth that are weakened, cracked, worn down, or too damaged for a filling alone. It fully covers the tooth, helping protect what remains while rebuilding its strength, shape, and function.

Crowns are commonly recommended when a tooth has lost a significant amount of structure due to decay, fractures, large fillings, or after root canal treatment. In these situations, a crown helps reinforce the tooth so it can continue to function long term.

The goal is always to preserve your natural tooth whenever possible, and a crown allows us to do that by strengthening and protecting it.

Reasons For Treatment

When a Crown May Be Recommended

A crown may be suggested if a tooth:

  • Has a large filling with limited natural tooth structure remaining
  • Is cracked, broken, or significantly worn down
  • Has had root canal treatment
  • Needs additional strength to function properly
  • Is misshaped or heavily discoloured and you’d like to improve its appearance
In-Office Technology

Same-Day CEREC Crowns

At Roytec Dental Centre, we offer CEREC same-day crowns, allowing us to design, create, and place your crown in a single appointment.

Using digital scanning and in-office technology, we create a precise 3D model of your tooth. Your crown is then milled from a high-quality ceramic material and fitted the same day.

This means:

  • No temporary crown
  • No waiting weeks for a lab
  • Fewer appointments
  • Faster restoration of function and comfort

Once completed, your crown is carefully adjusted and bonded so it fits securely and comfortably.

The Process

What To Expect

We start with a full assessment to confirm whether a crown is the right option for your tooth.

If it is, the tooth is gently prepared and digital scans are taken to ensure accuracy. Your crown is then designed to match your bite and blend naturally with surrounding teeth in terms of shape and colour.

If you’re having a same-day crown, the entire process is completed in one visit so you leave with your tooth fully restored.
